How to Upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11

Microsoft’s free Windows 11 upgrade from Windows 10 is now available. All CyberPowerPC purchases after October 4th will already include Windows 11

• If you have a system that was purchase before October 5th 2021 and After July 2nd 2021, that still has Windows 10, see the instructions below.
• If you have a system that was purchase before July 2nd 2021, that has Windows 10, you'll need to follow different instructions to prepare the computer for upgrade, see instructions below.

Upgrading to Windows 11 for System with Windows 10 purchase after July 2nd 2021.

Microsoft is also gradually rolling out Windows 11, so the free upgrade won’t be offered to all existing PCs that are officially supported just yet. All existing and eligible PCs should be offered the Windows 11 upgrade by mid-2022, according to Microsoft. So if you haven't gotten an upgrade notification, don't worry, your system will notify you when it's ready.

Here’s how to get Windows 11 today, if you have a new PC that just shipped with Windows 10 or a device that’s allowed to upgrade to Windows 11.

• Check that your PC is officially supported through Microsoft’s PC Health Check app.
• Back up all of your important documents, apps, and data.
• On your Windows 10 PC, head into Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
• Check for updates.
• If the free Windows 11 upgrade is available, you’ll see an option to download and install.

• Click download and install.
• Follow the on-screen prompts and configure Windows 11 settings.

If you don’t see the free Windows 11 upgrade, and your PC is supported, then you might be able to avoid the wait using Microsoft’s new Installation Assistant. We have a guide here for skipping the line to upgrade to Windows 11.

Upgrading to Windows 11 for System with Windows 10 purchase before July 2nd 2021.

Not every existing PC running Windows 10 will be able to upgrade to Windows 11, though. Windows 11 will require Intel 8th Gen Coffee Lake or Zen 2 CPUs and up, TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) support, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. There are some extra workarounds you'll need to do if you want Windows 11.

To prepare your system to make it ready for an upgrade, you'll need to enter your systems BIOS to make the necessary changes. See below for instructions for how to enter the BIOS on your computer and make the changes relative to your specific motherboard brand and CPU type.

Follow these steps:

1. Power on your computer.

2. Press <Del> after the CyberPowerPC Logo or Motherboard Manufacturer's Logo appears.

   Note: The screen may flash up quickly so you may need to try the above keystroke multiples times as there is a short window of opportunity for the system to recognize the key-press. (Del)

3. Once the BIOS Setup screen appears match it to one of the following manufactures below for instructions specific to your BIOS

   • ASROCK AMD Systems
   • ASROCK Intel System
   • ASUS AMD Systems
   • ASUS Intel Systems
   • Gigabyte / Aorus AMD Systems
   • Gigabyte / Aorus Intel Systems
   • MSI AMD Systems
   • MSI Intel Systems

ASROCK AMD

1. Click on the Advanced Tab at the top of the screen.
2. Find the option AMD fTPM switch.
3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
4. Select AMD CPU fTPM to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say AMD fTPM switch [ AMD CPU fTPM ].
6. Click the Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

ASROCK Intel

1. Click on the Security Tab at the top of the screen.
2. Find the option Intel (R) Platform Trust Technology.
3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
4. Select Enabled to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say Intel (R) Platform Trust Technology [ Enabled].
6. Click the Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

ASUS AMD

1. Click on the Advanced at the top of the screen.
2. Click on "AMD fTPM configuration".
3. Find the option Selects TPM device.
4. Click the Dropdown option to the right.
5. Select Enabled Firmware TPM to activate it.
6. Now the line item should say Selects TPM device [ Enable Firmware TPM].
7. Click the Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
8. Select Save and Exit.
9. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

ASUS Intel

1. Click on the Advanced at the top of the screen.
2. Click on "PCH-FW configuration".
3. Find the option TPM Device Selection.
4. Click the Dropdown option to the right.
5. Select Enabled Firmware TPM to activate it.
6. Now the line item should say TPM Device Selection [ Enable Firmware TPM].
7. Click the Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
8. Select Save and Exit.
9. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

Gigabyte / Aorus AMD

1. Click on the Settings at the top of the screen.
2. Find the option AMD CPU fTPM.
3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
4. Select Enabled to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say AMD CPU fTPM [ Enabled ].
6. Click the Save & Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

Gigabyte / Aorus Intel

1. Click on the Settings at the top of the screen.
2. Find the option Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT).
3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
4. Select Enabled to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) [ Enabled ].
6. Click the Save & Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

MSI AMD

1. Click on the Settings at the left of the screen.
2. Find the option Security Device Support.
3. Click the Disable option to the right.
4. Select Enable to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say Security Device Support [ Enable ].
6. Press the ESC key or click the X close button on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade. 

MSI Intel

1. Click on the Settings at the left of the screen.
2. Find the option Security Device Support.
3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
4. Select Enabled to activate it.
5. Now the line item should say Security Device Support [ Enable ].
6. Press the ESC key or click the X close button on the upper right corner of the window.
7. Select Save and Exit.
8. Your computer should now restart and you can follow the instructions above to continue with your upgrade.
